Fancy something different? Check out old-school Vegas
Sometimes it’s good to break out of the mould and do something a little different, don’t you think? If you’re heading off for a visit to the neon-lit entertainment capital of the world, aka Las Vegas, then you would be seriously missing out if you simply concentrated on the mainstream must dos, such as the casinos, the hotels, the shows, the fountains, etc. Vegas is packed with more activities than most other places on the planet can only dream of, and some of them are seriously old-school, making the retro option the cooler choice!
Of course, you can’t go to Vegas and not have a little flutter, whether you bet $10 or $100, so why not improve your skills and chances before you go, by heading online and preparing your eye for the prize. Viva Las Vegas Classic should give you more than enough practice to hit those Vegas slots where it hurts, and lets face it, if you win money, you get more to spend on activities and fun whilst you’re there!
More money almost always means more enjoyment wherever in the world you are.
If you’re a little bored of the casino, and you fancy a change, then the following suggestions should certainly be on your to-do list, and offer a more old-school view of this neon-lit city of fun.
Las Vegas Mob Experience
Housed in the colourful Tropicana hotel, this museum-like attraction is a must-visit for anyone into their historical crime, as it showcases artefacts and stories from the height of the organised crime scene in Vegas. Think gangster mobs and molls, and you’re not far wrong.
Part of the Neon Museum, offered as part of a guided tour, here you will see the famous neon signs from years gone by, and let’s face it, Vegas loves a neon sign or two! Located in the Fremont Street part of Downtown Las Vegas, this is a more old-school feel of the city, when compared to The Strip, where most of the big hotels are situated.
Donn Arden’s Jubilee!
The longest running revue in town is the place to be to watch the stunning elegance of the famous Las Vegas show girl, feathers and all! This nightly show is held at Bally’s Las Vegas, so you could combine dinner in this beautiful hotel with a show, for a sophisticated night out.
Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show
If you can grab tickets for a night at this fantastic touring show, then you will have a treat indeed. The old Rat Pack stars come alive for one night only, with Frank Sinatra seeming to come back to life! This is old-school glamour at its best.
The Little White Chapel
Easily found down the Las Vegas Strip you will stumble upon a piece of Vegas and world famous history here – the venue for many a celebrity quickie wedding! Home to the drive thru Tunnel of Vows, The Little White Chapel looks quaint and idyllic, but packs a huge tourist punch!
